This resort is simply perfect! The location , our views, the proximity to practically everywhere on the island. We stayed 8 nights. We had an issue in our unit and I have to say the way it was handled was amazing. We were attended to immediately and were offered several options to resolve our problem. Francisco, the guest relations manager personally checked on us the next several days to assure our vacation was the best it could possibly be. I very much appreciated the caring and the extra time he took to make sure we were happy. The resort has lots of activities , you don’t need to leave the premises if you don’t want to. There are daily organized activities, water activities, casino, restaurants. The town in a 5 minute walk and the supermarket is at the bottom of the hill. All walking distance. I will definitely recommend Simpson Bay Resort Marina and Spa to everyone visiting Sint Maarten. I know I will be coming back 😊
We spent a week at the resort. It is a friendly place and the service is good and professional. The beach is a real pleasure and the service is first class. It starts with the staff bring you you beach chair under a palm roof to bring served tasty adult beverages while working on a tan. The daily breakfast buffet is a true pleasure set on the bay is also a feast for the eyes. The rooms are well appointed and the kitchen has all you need including a dishwasher. The bedding is comfortable and our room also had a very nice Murphy Bed in place of a lumpy pull out couch. Both pools have swim up bars and their specials and happy hour make the costs very reasonable. I can not wait to return for another awesome vacation.
I booked one night before a cruise and arrived at the hotel at 4:30pm. The front desk staff were not especially fast, but they were pleasant enough and were trying. I got the key to my room and headed to my room, where I was met by the housekeeper who told me that the room was "really dirty" and she was not finished with it. She told me that I could leave my bag there and come back when she was finished. Having left home 12 hours earlier, I inquired at the front desk to see if any other rooms were available. There was a bit of discussion and I was told that I could sit in the lobby to wait for my room to be ready. Finally my room was ready at 5:30pm and someone went to check it before I went down. The room was fine, other than the need to keep the door to the bedroom closed because of noise and odor from the adjacent room. It was also unfortunate being on the first floor as everyone walking by could see in, but I understand such matters. The view from the room was nice and the hotel appeared to have nice facilities although I did not have the chance to take advantage of any of them. In the morning, I was still expected to vacate the room by 10am despite the delays of the night before. At departure time, I asked for a taxi and was alerted when my taxi arrived. As I loaded my bag and boarded the taxi, I was told that this was not the right taxi and was told to get out so the two other guests who were standing there could get in. My correct taxi arrived shortly thereafter, but the whole experience at the hotel is not one that I would choose to repeat.
