The setting of the hotel is magnificent, and the staff and service is excellent. It's also one of the few hotels in the area to have parking which is a real bonus. I really enjoyed my stay here, however, I can't give it any more than 3 stars for the following reasons. The room had no air conditioning (it wasn't an issue during my stay as the weather wasn't too warm, but this could be a real problem during warmer weather) The en-suite bathroom had a very hot towel rail which couldn't be turned off and made the bathroom unbearably hot. The restaurant and bar were not open during my stay other than for breakfast and limited room service( this was due to staffing difficulties caused by covid, which I do understand is not the hotels fault) None of this has been taken into consideration when it comes to the cost per night. It is way too high given these issues. When you pay luxury prices, you really should expect an exceptional experience which it just didn't deliver.
