I would have given 7 or 8 stars if it was an option. Wonderful little place run by a truly lovely man, Mr Tekeste, who went absolutely above and beyond to make sure we not only were able to see everything and go everywhere we wanted, but also got a real insight into local Eritrean culture and traditions. He organised our trip down to Massawa for us but then also threw in 3 airport transfers, and transport and a guide around the Tank Graveyard for free. One critical point - the address in Lonely Planet and on google maps for Asmara Grande has been wrong to date - it is not on Beirut Street but is in fact on the corner of Mata Street and Baka Street, diagonally across from the Central Hotel.
