We had a reservation 2020 spring but it was cancelled due to closures but we have got a voucher which could be used until the end of 2021. So I made a new reservation in 2021 but we had to be postpone it for a few weeks later. The hotel was very flexible, kind and fast communication in e-mail. The place is in a really good location, in short walk you can get to good restaurants and the public transport is in a few minutes walk too. Breakfast has a large selection of quality food (pastry, cold cuts, vegetables, dairy products) so it's worth the price. We have got bigger rooms than what we reserved, so it was comfortable and suitable for a short Berlin trip.
You can literally hear everything from slaming the door, running on stairs and also talking, alarm clock, laughing…in room next door ! There where groups of young people which where loud (but I mean loud for real until 3pm at and then again slaming the doors at 6 in the morning 🙄 On the other side of hostel are also railways wich are loud so you really can’t get some sleep anyway! But if you will party all night and sleep all day then you probably wouldn’t care 😉 😊
The customer service is very poor. In particular, the receptionist named Nigel Richmond has been very unprofessional to me and my colleagues. He’s been very rude and disrespectful about every query I’ve asked him. It’s not nice to come to a place you pay for and feel to be discriminated against - this person should be trained in how to interact with people. Despite of his possible experience, this person has been very intolerant to someone coming from another country. Staff should always be understanding and polite, this is why Nigel Richmond is not appropriate to do his job. In conclusion, the rooms and overall comfort of hostel are completely fine, but I don’t wish you to meet this receptionist. It ruined my whole experience in Berlin.
